A LOOK AT HOW WE BROUGHT COMEDY DUO MARTY AND MICHAEL'S VISION TO LIFE

The findings are in, the data has been analysed and it is confirmed that …. Celebrity Ink™ do great tattoos and we are awesome to work with! It’s true of course, but in all seriousness, when it comes to designing a tattoo we take it very seriously and the pieces we did with Marty and Michael were no exception.

Marty and Michael are known for their unique style of comedy which involves challenges, pranks, ‘science experiments’ and an impressive array of shenanigans. When the pair came to us to help them set out to prove that tattooed shoes would be just as effective protection as real shoes to their more than four million followers on social media, it was a great opportunity we could not pass up.

A big part of making all of this happen came down to the design of the shoes on the duo’s feet; we needed to make sure they looked good for the camera but also make sure Marty and Michael loved them as well, after all they are permanent kicks!

Creating the perfect design is always one of the biggest challenges for both a tattoo artist and the client - the possibilities for a tattoo are endless. There are a lot of different ways of going about making your design, but the biggest things to focus on to make sure you get it right is – research, communication and collaboration!

  • Research

Have a look at the different types of designs you like and start building a collection you can share with your tattoo artist once you’re ready to make a booking. The more examples you can give the better! Being prepared, doing your research, and making the time to sit-down to speak with a tattoo artist about what you want is the best way to make sure you get what you want.

  • Communication

Listen to what your tattoo artist recommends! They know how the placement, colour, shading and lines are going to work, and at the end of the day they want you to love your new tattoo design just as much as they do.

  • Collaboration

Work collaboratively with your tattoo artist to create your design. Give them clear direction and feedback on the designs they create and get their advice and recommendations on how you can make your design better. There can be a bit of back forth with this, but at the end of the day you will have a tattoo you’ll love!

We know not everyone who comes into one of our studios will be getting a tattoo in the name of science, but this ‘experiment’ really goes to show our tattoo artists are capable of anything! Being able to create unique tattoo designs and having a blast throughout the whole process is why we love what we do, even the media are loving the work we are creating!
